Dental Radiology Certification Test Preparation


For dental assistants, understanding the practice of and how to perform radiologic procedures could help you broaden your employment opportunities.

In the state of Pennsylvania, performing radiologic tasks requires that professionals successfully pass the Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) exam administered by the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB). At Brightwood Career Institute, our Dental Radiology Certification Test Preparation short course is intended to provide you with the relevant skills and knowledge to pass the DANB's RHS exam.†

Dental Radiology Exam Prep Course Description

Our test prep course for the RHS features practice exams and focuses on identifying and explaining key concepts of the dental radiology exam. These concepts include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Radiographic techniques
  • Film selection and examination
  • Radiologic equipment and methods
  • Quality of an exposure
  • Paralleling and bisecting techniques
  • Diagnostic quality
  • Automatic processing, manual processing, and processing errors
  • Mounting radiographs and anatomical landmarks
  • Radiation safety

Dental Radiology Course Outcomes

Upon completion of Brightwood Career Institute's Dental Radiology Certification Test Preparation course, students should understand the following:

  • Radiology terminology and techniques
  • Radiograph exposure and processing under the supervision of a dentist in a dental practice

Students who complete the course will receive a certificate of completion from Brightwood Career Institute.
