For those working in Pennsylvania, you must pass the Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) exam administered by the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) to perform radiologic tasks. We offer the Dental Radiology Certification Test Preparation short course as an introduction to the relevant skills and knowledge needed to pass the DANB's RHS exam.†

Dental Radiology Exam Prep Course Description

The RHS test prep course is designed to define and clarify key concepts of the dental radiology exam. Concepts include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Diagnostic quality
  • Paralleling and bisecting techniques
  • Radiographic techniques
  • Automatic processing, manual processing and processing errors
  • Radiation safety
  • Film selection and examination
  • Radiologic equipment and methods
  • Quality of an exposure
  • Mounting radiographs and anatomical landmarks

Dental Radiology Course Outcomes

When you complete Brightwood Career Institute's Dental Radiology Certification Test Preparation course, the goal is to understand the following:

  • Radiograph exposure and processing under the supervision of a dentist in a dental practice
  • Radiology terminology and techniques A certificate of completion from Brightwood Career Institute will be awarded to students who complete the course.
